Kevin Pykett has been at the heart of Grimsby Garden Centre's Café Blue for around 3 years now; he is passionate about what he does as a chef, and cannot imagine himself doing anything else.

Kevin and his team have become well known through their hard-work for producing ‘the best fish and chips in town’ and a hugely successful carvery that fills the restaurant week on week. The quality, it could be said is mostly due to Kevin only allowing fresh, quality and mostly local ingredients to be used in Café Blue’s cooking. Cafe Blue is stacked out with customers wanting fish and chips on a Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and at only £7.80 for fresh, line-caught Grimsby haddock, chips and peas, who can blame them.
On a day to day basis Kevin is in charge of running Café Blue: delivering quality home cooked food, dealing with suppliers and managing his staff and volunteers.
He is well known and liked by many of the regular customers, who often comment that ‘you can hear him before you see him’ although he may say that he ‘is not customer friendly’.
Of course, Café Blue isn’t run by Kevin alone; without the team Café Blue wouldn’t have so many happy customers.
