First and foremost we are a garden centre with gardening at the heart of what we do, but not only that, we have a lovely range of funky furniture, candles and giftware, pet products and an onsite licensed café.

Our team of staff collectively have 92 years of experience in the garden centre business, so if you have a question or query, we are here to help.

Our services even extend helping you update your home and garden. Services that we provide include: property and grounds maintenance, painting and decorating, plastering and tiling, kitchens and bathrooms, domestic and office refurbishment, fencing, decking and joinery all at affordable prices with an experienced workforce. Jalousie, Maidenhead Aquatics, and Edinburgh Woollen Mill are also located onsite.

history

Grimsby Garden Centre, previously known as Alfords Garden Centre was bought by NAViGO in October 2015, and has been brought up to date by its new owners, and is still changing and expanding now.

So why is Grimsby Garden Centre a part of NAViGO- a social enterprise which runs mental health? Well firstly, NAViGO, alongside Tukes aims to get people from disadvantaged backgrounds and people with mental health difficulties back into work by offering them real working life skills, whilst providing support and education. This often leads to employment and further opportunities for individuals.

We have many volunteers here at Grimsby Garden Centre, gaining experience in everything from greeting customers on the shop floor, stock taking, potting and pruning plants, to working in a busy restaurant environment. Our volunteers not only gain work experience and education but also find a place to make new friends and socialise with people with similar interests.

Grimsby Garden Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, so and any profit made by the garden centre goes back into the upkeep of the garden centre and straight into NAViGO, to be used to improve mental health services across North East Lincolnshire. This means that when you support Grimsby Garden centre, you are also helping to support people in your local community with mental health difficulties.
