Growing hope together this Mental Health Awareness Week
Proud to support the Gardiner Hill Foundation
At Grimsby Garden Centre, we’re proud to strengthen our commitment to our chosen charity, the Gardiner Hill Foundation — a local charity providing grants to people in North East Lincolnshire who are receiving mental health services through Navigo or Nurtio.
Being part of Navigo ourselves, and welcoming people with mental health difficulties to the garden centre every day, we’ve seen first-hand the difference the Gardiner Hill Foundation can make. From providing home essentials for those moving into their own place for the first time to funding horticulture courses that open doors to new skills, interests and career paths — the foundation works tirelessly to support local people on their journey to better mental health, independence and wellbeing.
Growing hope together this mental health awareness week
This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is all about community — something we see every day here at the garden centre.
To mark the week, we’re celebrating the work of our volunteers and service users who spend time with us in the garden centre and our allotment. We’re selling colourful summer planters that have been grown and planted by people using gardening to support their mental health — and they’re a perfect example of how much can grow with a little time, support and encouragement.
Bright flowers, brighter futures
Each planter is £14.99, with 10% of every sale going straight to the Gardiner Hill Foundation. These donations help fund small but impactful grants of up to £250 for people using Navigo or Nurtio services.
So when you buy a planter, you’re not just brightening your garden — you’re supporting local people to thrive.
A commitment to the community
At Grimsby Garden Centre, we continue to reinvest profits for the benefit of the local community, particularly mental health services. This partnership with the Gardiner Hill Foundation is just one of the ways we do that — helping to fund direct support for individuals and make a real difference in people’s lives.
Craig Champion, Business Manager at Grimsby Garden Centre, said, “We’re proud to keep strengthening our commitment to local people with mental health difficulties — not only by reinvesting profits into the community but also by directly supporting individuals through the Gardiner Hill Foundation.”
Keep an eye out for future events and fundraising activities here at the garden centre. Your support means the Gardiner Hill Foundation can continue its incredible work across North East Lincolnshire — improving lives, boosting wellbeing, and helping people move forward with hope.
Customers can shop at the garden centre knowing that, as always, their purchases are helping Grimsby Garden Centre reinvest profits into the local community. Additionally, by purchasing one of our planters, you’ll be making a direct contribution to the Gardiner Hill Foundation, helping individuals with mental health difficulties thrive.
