Feel good growing
Green-fingered enthusiasts have exciting plans for space at the back of the garden centre.
The group of service users, staff and volunteers are creating a large allotment to share their gardening expertise with other service users and volunteers and help boost mental health and wellbeing.
This latest green venture expands on the Peaksfield communal allotment run by Navigo which supports service users to grow their own fruit and vegetables and improve their wellbeing spending time outdoors.
Plans for the garden centre allotment include creating raised beds to allow people with reduced mobility easier access to growing, a wildflower bed to encourage pollinators and fruit and vegetable growing which can easily be replicated in small spaces – teaching people that they can continue growing from home.
